Our market promotes economic relocalization—bringing the focus and energy back home—by maximizing the sale and use of regional produce and products. We feature only Connecticut-grown agriculture, locally-produced food and regionally-made delights. Each week we unite and engage our small town with our vibrant community organizations.

“It is a special and unique farmers' market for CT! Typically small-town CT farmers' markets are held in parking lots, on town greens, or in fields. Beautiful and an efficient use of space as that may be, sometimes they loose the connection to the town itself. Chester Sunday Market is held on the street, in-town, creating a gathering and meeting place for visitors, farmers, and community while ultimately connecting the in-town businesses to the farmers and producers of local products. Its unique setting has made it a Sunday destination for many, and an interesting market for our vendors.”
“This is a resounding success bringing together great food and the town in a joint act of sharing and support. We have something like 20 + vendors representing all food groups - veggies, fruits, bread, meat, fish, cheeses, milk, flowers, eggs, honey, maple syrup and more. There is lively music and everyone comes out. A couple of restaurants grill fresh foods. The Market Tent sells the best smoothies with the funds going back to help support the market. Such a warm way to bring out old and new friends too.”

“The Chester Sunday Market takes place in the center of Chester, CT, a beautiful little village. Every Sunday, people come to see their friends and buy fresh local produce, seafood, poultry, beef, etc... There is live music from different local musicians each week and there is always something good to eat. What could be better? The Chester Sunday Market has already inspired a group of us to start a dinner club where every ingredient is local. I, for one, wish the market could be every day all year 'round.”
